Have you ever felt God tell you to do something? Have you ever said to yourself, "That probably isn't God. I cannot be sure, so I do not have to do it." Obeying God can sometimes be one of the hardest things to start doing, but once you start doing the things God wants you to do, it opens up a whole new world (Cue musical number here) of experiences and one of the best feelings inside your heart.
1 Corinthians says, "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." NIV.
You can't please God if you do not do what He tells you to do. You cannot give yourself fully to the work of the Lord if you do not do what He tells you to do. One of the biggest things that stops us from doing what He wants is fear. Yep fear.
I have learned that God just wants us to do the thing He asked. You may have someone react weirdly to you going up and asking to pray for them etc., but honestly, why is that so bad. Your spirit will get filled, God will reward you, and you will walk away a little less afraid to do what God asks you to do next time. Sometimes the person will be more than happy for you to talk with them or that you stopped to help them. People need God's love. We are here to give that to them. So be strong and stand firm. Do not let fear stop you from getting closer and closer to God's will for you and all the things He wants to bless you with. Yay.

- Fear of what people might think of you. (I don't even know this person and God wants me to tell them this? What will my friends think? I am going to look like a weirdo.
- Fear that the enemy tries to put in you. (You can tell the devil to go away in the name of Jesus. Pray for God to help filter out thoughts that are not your own.)
- Fear of not doing things perfectly. (God just wants to you do what He asks. It does not have to be perfect. If you stumble over your words, or mess up, He still loves you. He is still proud of you for trying.)

How to overcome fear:
- Trust God knows what He is doing. (He created the universe!)
- Jump in! (At a lake, I used to dip my toes in the water, then my feet, then my legs, etc etc. It was a long process and eventually I found out that if I just jumped in, it was so much easier to get used to the water.) If you just do what God tells you to do right away, it is a lot easier. P.S. The closer you get to God and the more you read the Bible, you will be able to pick out things that are not from God and get more confidence.
- Smack the devil in the face with faith. (Faith and truth can destroy your fear and the fear the devil tries to plant in you.)
- Spend time with God. (The more you spend time with someone and grow to love and trust them, the more likely you are going to want to do the things that they ask you to do.)
