Earthly Example

Evangelism is just spreading the word about something. Maybe you ate at a really good ice cream place and you want to tell other people about it.

Spiritual Explanation

Spiritually, evangelism is going and telling other people about Jesus and God. Every Christian should tell others about Jesus in some way, but some people have a gift for it that seems natural. By the Holy Spirit, they know what to say and when. God can use anybody for evangelism by the power of the Holy Spirit working in them. 

Biblical Example

• Paul was an evangelist. He went around and told people what Jesus did for him. He preached in the synagogues. (Acts 9:20) 
  
• Jonah was a messenger that God told to go tell the people of Ninevah that they should repent. (Book of Jonah) 
  
• Jesus told people the good news of the coming of the kingdom of God. (Gospels) 
• Jesus sent out the disciples to tell others about the good news. (Luke 10)
