This blog is intended to update others and the progress of the Looky Lamb App. Please do not steal material, ideas, or concepts from these writings and pictures.
There needs to be a good Christian App for kids of all ages. That really does more than waste time. It should help kids of all ages draw closer to God and have fun while doing so. That is what I am trying to make.

I have been working on my Looky Lamb iPad app for a few months. To the left you can see a prototype of the main screen. All of the games, activities, music, art, etc. will be accessed here. I have not made icons for all the games yet, but rather just put place holder pictures to give an idea of the layout. The background clouds and shadows move, giving it life. Down in the bottom right corner you can see a little orange circle with 2 eyes and a number. While each game is played, there are opportunities to earn points that can either be spent during the games or saved for later. The main goal of this app will be to help children of all ages with their daily walk. There will be daily verses, activity suggestions, and even the opportunity for them to get sponsored by an individual who will donate to a cause (most likely the fight against child hunger) based on the amount of earn points etc). Another idea was to have the player be able to use the points to update a village within the app. They could then get real donations sent to us which would then be spent toward the items in their app village in a real village in need around the world.

Here is a game about the fruit of the Spirit (Gentleness). I heard gentleness described as having a great amount of power but being in control of it. You are me (Looky Lamb) ice skating around. This game has been changed many times. I am still working out making the controls easier. The point of the game is to get to the baby penguin and gently (not too fast) get it back to its home. There will be rocks and ice patches to avoid on the way. These will cause it to be unsafe for the penguin and it will get knocked out of your hands. There is also a polar bear (possibly on later levels) that you have to watch out for too. Polar bears aren't exactly gentle and if he gets you then the game will restart.

This game is about the fruit of the Spirit (Self-Control). Basically you are me (Looky Lamb) and you are trying to keep bad thoughts out of my head. Self-control is about taking your thoughts captive in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is one good bee (the pure yellow one) that represents all the good thoughts in your head. You do not want this bee to get out of the exit. You swirl the Bible around in big circles which creates little tiny circles that can be used to catch a bee and pull it to the exit. As the levels get higher, the hive in the middle grows faster and faster. If the hive gets too big, then the game is over. Looky Points randomly appear on the screen and be collected and then saved or used for different powerups.

This is a game that might get scrapped. I do not know yet. The concept is that each one of the boxes will play a piano note when a ball comes in contact with it. The different colored balls all bounce, but each do something different. The blue one will keep bouncing when it hits the squares. The red one will stay in the square and keep playing the note over and over. The green one changes a blue ball to a red or a red to a blue. Not much more to say here.

This is the Looky Lamb drum set. Looky Points show up while you play. Not sure if I am going to make some kind of pattern game out of this or just have you play to music.

This is an early mockup of the drawing game I am making. It is very simple, but fun. Pictures can be saved (it was really an act of God to figure out how to get it to work). There will be a button to make the squares go crazy. During that time you can change the blocks colors as they travel around and bounce off eachother. After 10 seconds the blocks go back to where they were and you can see what new design was made in the craziness. I might throw in other things. I am not sure. I wanted the pictures made to look like old nintendo graphics.

This is one of my favorite games. It is about the fruit of the Spirit (Patience). I called it Paintience for fun. I (Looky Lamb) have been asked to repaint a building that has graffiti on it. The game is really fun. When the background color changes, you are supposed to touch the matching paint bucket as many times as you can before it changes again. The colors change faster as you get a higher score. You get 5 points every time it is right and lose 25 points every time it is wrong. You have to be patient. A random Looky Point with appear throughout the game, but be careful not to touch it if it appears over the wrong color or you will lose 25 points. As you click on the paint buckets, they spill a little bit more and more. There is a clean up button down in the corner that will wipe the paint clean. There is an easy (4 colors), medium (6 colors), and hard (9 colors) mode. As your score increases, I (Looky Lamb), will get higher up the building and eventually beat the level.

This is one of the pause screens. I am also making different mini games that you can do if you happen to lose a game.
