How does it make you feel when you get made fun of?
There will people who try to bring you down. There will be people who say mean things. Those things are temporary. Positive thinking and God's Holy Spirit can wash those bad things away until only the good things remain. Everyone feels sad at some time. Jesus cried too. We can still thank God when we are sad.
Here is a fun experiment you can try at home with a grown up.
- Get a small plastic or paper cup.
- Put a rock in the bottom of the cup. (Make sure the rock is about 25% of the cup's size)
- Start filling the cup with sugar or salt so that it covers the rock completely.
- Now start pouring water into the cup.
As the water pours in, the salt or sugar will pour over the side and and only the rock and clean water will remain.
The bigger portion of your life is God (the rock), the easier it will be to push away the mean things people say to you or about you (salt, sugar). God made you amazing. In the end, His view of you is the only one that is going to matter.
The trick to conquering being made fun of, is to look at it differently. Being made fun of is a way other people try to make themselves feel better about themselves. They try to make other people lower so they feel higher. Hurting people seem to hurt others more than ones that are not.

10 As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me, “Where is your God?” 11 Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him, the saving help of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 42:10-11 (WEB)
