The Bible says, "let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don't give up" Galatians 6:9 (WEB). What this means is, basically, you will be rewarded for the good that you're doing even if it doesn't seem like you're getting anywhere. I think this verse applies to the idea of practicing to make perfect.
Consistency is very important. Consistency is when you are faithful to practice on a regular basis. It's good to set aside time every day to work on whatever it is that you're learning. It's also important to listen closely to our teachers and instructors. They have the important task of making sure we understand the information that is given to us and that we are making progress. Not everyone learns at the same pace, but we all have an obligation to practice our sport or instrument if we intend to be good at it.
