It is important as Christians to have courage. The enemy of our souls would have us be crippled by fear so we are less likely to tell others about Christ. Courage is, being able to face a situation with certainty that God will bring you out of it. People who are courageous do not actively seek out dangerous situations, rather they face unavoidable turmoil with confidence in Christ, knowing that He is in control and will never leave us. Psalms 56:3-4 When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God I praise His word, in God I put my trust" (WEB).
Everyone faces fear. Grown ups face fear and young people. God is not the author of fear. 2nd Timothy 1:7 "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." (WEB) God's goodness is perfect and His love is perfect.
1st John 4:18 " There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love." (WEB) God's love casts out fear. I believe for this reason, it is important to focus on Gods love when we are afraid. The enemy of your soul would like for you to be afraid all the time, but fear is clearly no match for Gods love. God loves you perfectly. Romans 8:15 " For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!" (WEB)
